Web-Based Budgeting
Currently there are 3 popular web-based budgeting tools and they are all free to use.
Wesabe.com
Founded by Jason Knight and Marc Hedlund in December 2005, Wesabe is designed to bring people together in a community to share financial ideas. It gives members a better understanding of how they spend their money. Members can tap on other members’ savings, shopping and spending advice and tips so everybody can make better financial decisions.
Mint.com
Mint launched in September 2007. Aaron Patzer created Mint because he was fed up with how existing personal finance software require hours to setup and hours to update the data weekly. Mint automatically downloads the data from your bank, credit union and credit card. You get up-to-date views of your financial status.
Based on your spending patterns, Mint also searches thousands of offers from banks, credit cards, retailers and service providers to find the best deals for you.
Geezeo.com
The newest kid on the block, Geezeo appeals to the younger generation. However, this does not mean Geezeo is inferior to Wesabe or Mint. Members can also check their bank and credit card balances via text messaging on your mobile.
